Michelle Rudoff Named Grand Marshal for 2024 AHRC Foundation Walk
Celebrating anniversaries and the power of advocacy: Michelle Rudoff, a dedicated advocate and Quality Assurance Trainer at AHRC Nassau, has been named Grand Marshal for the 2024 AHRC Foundation Walk. Rudoff was recently awarded the prestigious 2023 Best Practices in Person-Centered Support Grant from True Link Financial.
A Decade of Advocacy
Over the past ten years, Rudoff has championed initiatives including safe driving and voter registration programs while advocating for self-directed supports. “When I first started receiving services, I didn't speak up. I want to teach others…that they can do it too,” she said.
Mary McNamara, Foundation Director of Nassau County AHRC Foundation, noted that Rudoff's “dedication to person-centered advocacy has made an extraordinary impact.”
About the Walk
The Nassau County AHRC Foundation was established 30 years ago to provide financial support for developmental disability programs on Long Island. This year's Walk takes place October 27th at Eisenhower Park, with more than 12,000 participants expected and a fundraising goal of $100,000. Families can look forward to games, a pumpkin patch, and other fall activities throughout the morning.
