Foundation Kicks Off Celebration for annual rose ball

Nassau County AHRC Foundation recently held their annual corporate kickoff at AHRC’s Brookville Mansion to celebrate its upcoming Rose Ball in June. The Rose Ball will honor Diane D’Erasmo, Executive Vice President, HSBC Bank USA and Jill and Jim Kelly, Co-Founders, Hunter’s Hope Foundation at its 62nd Rose Ball on Friday, June 8th at the Crest Hollow Country Club.

Ms. D’Erasmo is the Executive Vice President Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank USA, N.A., a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. In this role she is responsible for serving the financing needs of commercial and corporate clients from the Northeast Region. She serves as a Board Member for the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries’ at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Junior Achievement of New York. She is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Tobin College of Business. Diane was recognized in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking by US Banker Magazine. Ms. D’Erasmo will receive the 2012 Leadership Award.

Former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Jim Kelly, along with his wife Jill, have been active philanthropists for decades. In 1986, Jim Kelly established his Kelly for Kids Foundation to serve disadvantaged and disabled youth and in 1997 the Kellys established Hunter’s Hope Foundation, named after their son, Hunter, who was born with Krabbe Disease, an inherited fatal disorder of the nervous system. The couple is dedicated, through research and awareness, to finding a cure for Krabbe Disease and to enhancing newborn screening to detect other inherited conditions. Jill and Jim Kelly will receive the 2012 Humanitarian Award.

The 62nd Rose Ball is the Foundation’s largest and most prestigious fundraiser, traditionally raising $500,000. More than 600 guests are expected to attend the event scheduled to be held on Friday, June 8th at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
